Who is LashBase?

LashBase is a manufacturer of all things eyelashes – from the lashes themselves to the adhesive, to the tweezers and all the necessary health and safety elements required for safe application. Over the last few years, with the help of collaborators and influencers, their business has grown astronomically and as a result, they’ve been able to invest in some of their processes to ensure their operations and logistics is as safe and efficient as possible to protect their staff and to meet the demands of their growing customer base.

The Challenge:

LashBase was having a revamp of their mezzanine floor and as part of that, they wanted to change their method of transporting stock to the storage area on the mezzanine floor from using a forklift truck having a mezzanine goods lift.

Having a forklift truck although it does the job, is not as cost-effective long term as a forklift can only be used by licensed operatives, requires more maintenance than a goods lift and has more safety regulations which they need to adhere to.

LashBase contacted Advanced Handling Ltd after carrying out some online research about Mezzanine Goods Lifts and exploring our solutions and our competitor’s offerings. Advanced Handling, however, was able to offer them their perfect bespoke lifting solution within their exceedingly tight time scale of just 7-8 weeks from design to install.

The Solution:

Advanced Handling Ltd worked closely with LashBase as soon as the order was placed to ensure the suppliers of the new mezzanine floor manufactured and installed the rails at the correct dimensions for Advanced Handling’s Mezzanine Goods Lift and in the right place.

Advanced Handling designed, manufactured and installed a two-stop (ground and first floor – the mezzanine floor), 500kg lift with a usable platform of 1,350 x 1,350mm, the perfect size for the Euro pallets their stock comes in on. Although their pallets usually weight around 250kg, the 500kg capacity enabled them the flexibility to make changes and transport heavier loads if required later down the line.

The twin outward opening gates on both floors, rails, bridging plate and ramp ensured the lift was safe and easy for operators to load and unload efficiently. The lift also came with Advanced Handling’s standard safety features including interlocking gates which eliminate the risk of staff entering the lift’s shaft during operation and emergency stop buttons on both floors, easily accessed in case of an emergency.

The Benefits:

LashBase’s mezzanine goods lift was successfully installed in the 7-8 week requested timescale as part of their mezzanine floor revamp. All trained staff can now operate the lift and transport stock up and onto the mezzanine floor without the need to wait for a licensed forklift driver.
