Designed & Manufactured in Britain

In 2016, we became the first materials handling company to be accepted into the Made in Britain campaign, an initiative created to support and promote British manufacturing. In fact, our solutions are both designed and manufactured by our team of experts at Advanced Handling HQ, a purpose-built, state-of-the-art building in Peterborough.
Our close working environment provides us with the flexibility to deliver our Bespoke service, ensuring our customers’ requirements are met whilst maintaining our high “Made in Britain” standards.

Intelligent, Strong and Durable. These are traits that Advanced Handling share with the animal featured in our logo – the wonderful and, sadly, endangered African elephant.

Like the elephant, we also have big ears, and work with our customers by listening to them to discover their needs and working together to find the right and best lifting and handling solution – even if we have to create an entirely new and bespoke solution.

Twenty-five years ago, the African elephant population was in the midst of a poaching crisis, with 1000 animals a year being slaughtered.  At the same time, the black rhino was on the verge of extinction.

It is this crisis that led to the formation of the charity “Tusk” back in 1990.  Tusk’s mission was to combine the interests of both wildlife and people while preserving the natural heritage of Africa. Since then, Tusk has supported over 100 African conservation projects, investing over £25Million into ensuring the future of Africa whilst raising awareness of the challenges faced by the continent.

With the African elephant such a feature in our branding, and the importance of Tusk’s work in Africa, it was an easy decision for us to become a corporate supporter of the charity. And we are in good company; Prince William became the charity’s Royal Patron in 2005, acting as a powerful advocate of the conservation, education and community initiatives that Tusk have supported across Africa.

In a speech on 20th anniversary of the charity, Prince William stated that “The imperative of balancing conservation of wildlife and natural resources with the ever-growing needs of the human race is at the heart of the great challenge facing mankind today”.

It is widely acknowledged that the long-term future for the wildlife of Africa is dependent on education and sustainable development. As Prince William stated, “Africa’s natural heritage is the world’s natural heritage. We have to preserve places like this…not just for us, but for future generations”.

In support of the wonderful work carried out by Tusk, and spurred into action by the use of our elephant mascot, we established a way of building a continuous stream of funding to donate to towards Tusk projects. 1% of the total sale price of our Freedom Lift Stacker has been donated to Tusk for the last few years and this activity will be continued into the future. In addition, as a corporate supporter of Tusk, we regularly run other fundraising days and events to raise money for the charity.
