Who is Lashbase?

The Challenge
During their mezzanine floor revamp, LashBase wanted to upgrade how they transported stock to their upper storage area replacing their use of a forklift with a more efficient mezzanine goods lift.
A forklift truck had previously been used to move stock, however, was not the most cost-effective long-term solution. Forklifts rely on only being used by licensed operators, they require ongoing maintenance and additional safety regulations therefore making a goods lift a smarter, simpler alternative. Having researched various mezzanine good lifts solutions, and comparing different suppliers, LashBase approached Advanced Handling Ltd to design a goods lift that would meet their specific operational requirements. Despite a challenging deadline of 7-8 weeks, Advanced Handling designed, manufactured, and installed a fully bespoke goods lift providing LashBase with a purpose-built solution fit for their mezzanine upgrade.

The Solution
Once the order was placed, Advanced Handling collaborated with LashBase to ensure the mezzanine floor supplier manufactured and installed the rails to the exact specifications and in the precise locations required for the new goods lift.
Advanced Handling delivered a bespoke two-stop 500kg goods lift for LashBase, with a usable platform of 1,350×1,350mm – suitable for the Euro pallets used in their day-to-day operations. While their pallets typically weigh around 250kg, having a 500kg capacity provided them with the flexibility for changes or for transporting heavier loads in the future.
With twin outward-opening gates, rails, bridging plate, and ramp, it ensured that operators could load and unload stock both safely and efficiently on a daily basis. Equipped with Advanced Handling’s standard safety features, the lift includes interlocking gates to eliminate the risk of staff entering the shaft during operation and easily accessible emergency stop buttons on both floors for quick access in case of an emergency and to ensure maximum safety.

The Benefits
As part of the mezzanine floor revamp, LashBase’s mezzanine goods lift was successfully installed within the requested 7–8 week timescale. All staff can safely operate the goods lift, transport stock to the mezzanine floor eliminating the need for a licensed forklift driver.
