Who is Herald Build Ltd?
Herald Build Limited are a construction company based in the South East of England, who, since their formation in 2004, have enjoyed continued growth. Their focus is on refurbishments, maintenance, and new build projects in the commercial, industrial and leisure sectors predominantly in London and the South East of England.
-
The Challenge:
Industrial spaces into commercial kitchens which they then rent out to other companies to use as food manufacturing kitchens for small runs, test kitchens, prep kitchens, production kitchens for example. The nature of their business requires seamless operations and ultimate flexibility so they can meet the needs of every one of their customers at once.
They were building a new mezzanine floor in their London based communal kitchen for more kitchen apparatus storage and usable space. As a result, they required a Mezzanine Goods Lift to be able to carry all the equipment to and from the new floor. The lift needed to fit a roll cage trolleys in as well as a whole range of kitchen equipment. In addition to this, the lift also needed to be suitable for an operator to travel in with the load smoothly and safely.
-
The Solution:
Advanced Handling Ltd worked collaboratively with Herald Build Ltd and the architects to design and manufacture the ideal Mezzanine Goods Lift for Karma Kitchen’s application and to fit in with the new mezzanine floor plans.
The lift travelled 3,200mm, with a capacity of 500kg and a usable platform space of 1,450 x 1,450mm and a specially designed 600cm square designated area for the travelling operator. To ensure the lift was as safe as possible for the operator to travel in, Advanced Handling also installed an additional emergency stop button which was easily accessible from the operator area within the lift itself.
The lift also featured specially designed tall doors 2,100mm and bridging plates to make it as easy as possible for the operator to manoeuvre their tall roll cages in and out of the lift.
In addition, Karma Kitchen requested a specific RAL colour for the exterior of the lift, so it fitted in with their facilities aesthetics.
-
The Benefits:
Herald Build Ltd and Karma Kitchens completed the mezzanine floor project on time. Karma Kitchens has dramatically increased their work and storage space for their kitchens and equipment and has peace of mind that the lift is easy to operate and safe for the operator to travel in. The lift has also provided Karma Kitchens the flexibility they need to be able to tick all their customer’s boxes and more.
