Due to unprecedented growth, we’re looking for an experienced, multiskilled, mechanically based Field Service Engineer to join our close-knit Service team, reporting to the Service Manager. This role will be based remotely and will involve regular travel and staying away from home. A vehicle will be provided, and a full and clean driving licence is required.

Job Summary:

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be providing customers with exceptional service and support carrying out both installations and commissioning on our lifting and handling solutions including, but not limited to, scissor lifts, goods lifts and overhead lifting systems. In addition to this, you will be undertaking both planned, preventative and reactive maintenance including breakdowns, repairs and LOLER Services at customers’ sites.

The ideal candidate will need to be able to consistently deliver outstanding service to ensure Advanced Handling’s high level of customer satisfaction is retained, to maximise retention and to solve their challenges first time around.

You will be self-motivated, be able to work as an individual and as a team, have impeccable organisation, time-management and communication skills.

Most importantly, you will be able to fulfil your duties whilst adhering to and advising the customers on all aspects of health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

Essential experience:

  • Mechanical/electrical background.
  • Experience installing and commissioning pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
  • Comfortable in all aspects of hydraulic and pneumatic repair work.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding technical diagrams.
  • Previously participated in site surveys.
  • Experience instructing clients on product operation.
  • Have a good understanding of financial and service implications resulting from the approach to repair and maintenance.
  • Have previously worked in a customer-facing role, ideally on-site.

Desired experience:

  • Knowledge and experience in LOLER inspection.
  • 18th Edition IEE regulation certification.

Core skills:

  • The ability to manage your own time to ensure work is completed on time and all paperwork submitted correctly.
  • A positive “Can Do” attitude to addressing technical challenges.
  • High level of communication both internally and externally with customers.
  • The ability to work both as a team and as an individual.
  • The mindset to always be looking for ways to improve as an individual, department and as a company.
  • Computer literate.
  • A full clean driving licence.
