Due to unprecedented growth, we’re looking for an experienced, organised and self-motivated Key Account Manager to join our Direct Sales Team reporting to the Direct Sales Manager. As this role involves regular travel to customer sites, a vehicle will be provided, and a full and clean driving licence is required. Job Summary:

JOB TITLE: Key Account Manager

REPORTING TO: Direct Sales Manager

DEFINITION OF THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITY

  • To manage and co-ordinate Direct Sales within the territory assigned.
  • To contribute directly to ensuring profitability and growth in line with the company vision and values.

KEY TASKS AND DUTIES 

  • Achievement of monthly and quarterly sales order targets, product-led in some areas, circa £1m per annum.
  • Lead management – Key Accounts and repeatable business via Account Management plan, new business creation and acting on marketing-generated leads within the defined geographical territory assigned.
  • Developing and maintaining existing accounts and subsequent self-generation of repeat business.
  • Territory planning in advance of consultative site visits.
  • Preparation and submission of technical quotations to customers and subsequent order paperwork to the office.
  • Liaising with customers / technical department.
  • Maintain accurate records of all enquiries, sales and activity reports via the Company’s CRM system.
  • Monthly and quarterly forecasting.
  • Weekly and monthly reporting of sales, KPIs and activity.
  • Maintain and wherever possible increase the Company’s sales and profitability consistent with good business practice and the Company’s overall business objectives.
  • Analysis of competitor products and offerings.
  • Adhere to all company policies, admin procedures and business ethics codes.

IN ADDITION

  • To assist the Sales Director in key functions.
  • General admin and support to the other areas of the business when required.

KEY SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Excellent track record of achievement in sales roles within the engineering industry.
  • Proven ability within consultative selling to in a B2B environment.
  • Strong technical aptitude and an interest in mechanical products.
  • Extensive experience in all aspects of customer relationship management.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work to meet targets.
  • Professional presentation style.
  • Completion of sales training is desirable.
  • Friendly, helpful nature focused on relationship building.
  • Good communication and confident in speaking to customers both over the phone and face-to-face.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to close sales.
  • Team player.
  • Computer literate.
  • Must have a full, clean driving licence.
