Improving productivity using Elevation scissor lifts
With a focus on UK productivity in the headlines recently, and our move to our new factory imminent, it seemed an ideal time to write more about how we are using our own UK manufactured lifting equipment to increase productivity, as well as improve safety and job satisfaction, in our new premises.
We are now in our last week at our Market Deeping factory that has been our home for the last 40 years. Next week we move into our new premises in Peterborough, with a factory floor space of more than double the size of our current location, and we’ve installed state of the art equipment to make the lives of our manufacturing teams that much easier.
One of the exciting features of the new factory is that we will be installing more of our own Elevation scissor lifting tables. We’re using a range of sizes for different operations, some installed in pits as well as mobile lifting tables that can be moved to different areas of the shop floor.
The static tables will be used mainly for manufacturing more scissor tables, raising the height of the units being worked on to a level that makes it much easier and quicker for the engineers to carry out their work. We’ve always used our scissor tables in our own factories, as well as most of our other lifting equipment, to make engineers’ jobs safer and more pleasant and create a more efficient workflow, and it’s great to now have the room to install even more of our lifting solutions.Jason Northern, Manufacturing Manager, said, “We continually use most of our equipment at some time or other in the factory depending on what jobs we have going through. Our Elevation scissor lifts are perfect for our everyday activities, making it quick and easy to adjust the heights of whatever we may be working on at the time. This adds real value to our operation and we know that keeping our staff safe, happy and motivated will lead to much greater output in the long term.”
Our Elevation tables all come with a three-year guarantee and free servicing. They have a pressure compensation lowering valve as standard. They are push-button control and feature a safety trip bar to all sides to stop the table lowering if it meets an obstruction. They will operate outdoors or indoors and can lift up to 10 tonnes a height of up to 7m as standard. We also excel at designing and manufacturing all types of modifications that may be required to ensure that customers’ lifting platforms do exactly what they need them to do.
These modifications include but are not limited to:
- A turntable mounted on, or built into, the platform
- A fork entry base frame
- Bellows skirt
- Roller tops
- Tilting tops
- Loading dock tables
- Stainless steel manufactured lift tables
- Lifting eye bolts on platform
