Who is Who Cult?

WhoCult is an independent coffee and donut brand born from their original streetwear label, WhoClo. What began as a small café at the front of their warehouse has grown into a fully-fledged brand with a loyal following. They now operate six stores across South Wales and run their very own donut bakery, where every single donut is made fresh, by hand, seven days a week.

  • The Challenge

WhoCult recently redesigned their production layout and added a mezzanine floor to create a dedicated topping area, giving the bakery more working space. Once the donuts are finished on the mezzanine floor, they are transported back down to the ground floor on stainless steel trolleys. To keep this workflow safe and efficient, WhoCult needed a reliable goods lift to transport the trolleys between floors.

  • The Solution

Advanced Handling supplied a 500kg Reach Essential Goods Lift – a cost-effective, compact solution tailored to WhoCult’s workflow.

The platform and lift dimensions were perfect to allow smooth, safe movement of stainless-steel trolleys in and out of the lift. A painted mild steel finish was selected, offering durability and hygiene suitability since the lift did not come into direct content with the finished donuts.

The motor and control system could comfortably handle WhoCult’s hourly usage, ensuring reliable and consistent operation throughout the day.

  • The Benefits

The new 500kg Reach Essential goods lift has significantly improved Who Cult’s production efficiency by enabling fast, safe movement of ingredients and products between the ground floor and mezzanine. By eliminating manual lifting, it reduces physical strain on staff and enhances overall workplace safety and productivity.

The lift’s specification supports intensive one-hour bursts of operation, ensuring reliable performance during busy production periods. It offers a durable, hygiene-friendly solution for its’ food-production environment, allowing the bakery to maximise its’ mezzanine space without major structural changes.
