What they do
The food manufacturer has been supplying meals to retailers and the airline and travel industry for over 10 years. Due to recent growth, they have invested in a purpose-built new factory to increase their footprint and ensure their operational and logistical process can cope with demand.
The Challenge
Their new facility operates over two levels and therefore they required a quick, efficient and safe way of transporting their heavy goods between the floors and due to the scope of their new build, it was calculated that three lifts were required, one large and two smaller.
They also needed to ensure that the supplier they selected could adhere to the tight schedule they were working to and the company and solution complied with industry regulations.
The Solution
After speaking to the customer and visiting site to ensure their challenges were fully understood, Advanced Handling started work designing their three bespoke Goods Lifts.
Advanced Handling had just been through a recent product development stage with the Mezzanine and Goods Lifts, developing the shaft system to improve its load bearing whilst ensuring compliance with health, safety and industry regulations. It was exciting for the customer to be the first to have it installed.
Advanced Handling successfully designed, built and installed three Goods Lifts for the customer, two with the same floor space and one slightly larger to ensure functionality but minimise impact on footprint. All had a capacity of 1,000kg and a lift height of 3,850mm to reach the second floor with twin gates to maximise space for loading and unloading. The installation will help them improve their operational productivity and efficiency in their new facility.
The Benefits
Advanced Handling worked alongside the customer at all stages of the process, from the consultation prior purchase, during the design phase and finally, throughout the installation and sign-off process. The project was completed within their timescale, so it didn’t impede on the next stage of the build.
The customer is now looking forward to their increased productivity and efficiency in their new site with the help of their Goods Lifts from Advanced Handling.
