The Challenge
Design 911 approached Advanced Handling as they needed a solution to improve the efficiency of load distribution throughout their space-restricted building and to maximise the use of their mezzanine floor.

The Solution
Advanced Handling Ltd designed, manufactured and installed a mesh enclosed, 500kg Mezzanine Goods Lift featuring a usable platform of 1,350 x 1,450mm. The lift was purpose-built to transport stock efficiently from the ground floor to the mezzanine storage area.
The lift also featured twin interlocking gates on both the ground floor and mezzanine floor designed to open outwards to maximise the usable space within the area. The interlocking safety feature eliminates the risk of operators entering the lift’s shaft during operation.
Before manufacturing began, Advanced Handling carried out a Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) to identify and resolve any potential challenges that could occur during installation, particular due to the space restrictions on site. As this was a new lift installation, the team worked collaboratively with the company responsible for cutting the hole into the existing mezzanine floor to ensure it was accurately sized. This level of planning and foresight reflects Advanced Handling’s extensive experience in delivering bespoke lifting solutions.
