Advanced handling scissor table used in charity Gromit sculpture

One of our low profile scissor tables has been selected for an exciting and inspirational charity project to help raise funds for Bristol Children’s Hospital. “Gromjet”, an interactive 3D printed sculpture built and sponsored by Rolls Royce, is part of the “Gromit Unleashed 2” sculpture trail that has been unveiled in Bristol this year.
Over 60 of the larger than life characters from the TV Show Wallace and Gromit can be found across the city as part of “The Grand Appeal”, a project developed by The Bristol Children’s Hospital Charity. The arts trail can be followed in Bristol until 2nd September 2018.

“Gromjet” represents the importance of aviation in Bristol’s history and is on display at Bristol Aerospace. Our scissor table is beneath the “grass” and helps to magically lift Gromit when the model Rolls Royce jet engines are fired up!
The sculpture was built using Rolls Royce state of the art 3D scanning and printing, using the same technology as it uses when designing and building some of its current commercial components. Find out more about the sculpture trail by visiting the Grand Appeal website.
