Who are Pearce Hire?

Pearce Hire are experts in audio and lighting for live events, offering full-scale production services across the UK. Their warehouse stores high-value, bulky flight cases loaded with equipment – often required at short notice for tours, exhibitions and installations. With rapid turnaround times and a busy schedule, they needed a soliton that would make the movement of equipment between mezzanine floors safer and faster.

  • The Challenge

With increasing workloads and heavier lifting demands, the team at Pearce Hire were moving multiple flight cases manually between floors – an inefficient and high-risk process. Their mezzanine was in place, but they needed a tailored lifting solution that would integrate into their layout.

The project was time critical and driven by a need to improve health and safety, eliminate manual handling and maximise operational flow in their demanding environment. The client had concerns about space usage and wanted to avoid any disruption during the installation process.

  • The Solution

Referred by a trusted supplier, Pearce Hire approached Advanced Handling for support. From the outset, the team managed the project in full, working closely with the mezzanine floor provider to design a solution that worked around the existing structure.

The result was a pit-mounted, 3 stop goods lift with a 1000kg capacity and a useable platform size of 2500 x 2500mm, capable of transporting up to six flight cases per load. A through-loading setup on both short sides at ground level, and same side loading on levels 1 and 2, allowed for smooth movement throughout the building.

The lift was inserted into the mezzanine with bridging plates at each level for seamless loading. Advanced Handling’s technical design team helped maximise space and layout efficiency through detailed consultations throughout.

  • The Benefits

The goods lift has dramatically improved efficiency across the warehouse, reducing loading times and eliminating the risks associated with manual handling. It has streamlined the operation while creating a much safer working environment for staff.

Clear communication, regular updates and a UK-based manufacturer gave them complete confidence in the process. A service plan was agreed from the start, ensuring long term performance and reliability.
