Who are Clown Fish events?

Clownfish Events are a leading AV company, operating from their warehouse in Greater London for over seven years. They specialise in event management, technical production and entertainment hire, on a mission to create the most memorable evets.

  • The Challenge

Clownfish’s warehouse in Greater London is the heart of their busy AV and events operations. It houses a wide range of high value, bulky equipment – including stage platforms, flight cases, and heavy-duty lighting which has been stored on racking up to 11 meters high!

While forklifts were originally used to access and move kit between floors, the setup raised growing safety concerns. Navigating a warehouse full of fragile, high value AV gear with forklifts (especially at height) posed too much risk. Clownfish needed a safer, more efficient lifting solution that could handle the demands of their fast-paces, high-pressure operation.

  • The Solution

After submitting a online enquiry, the team received a prompt call from Advanced Handling. A site visit was quickly arranged for the following week where the warehouse layout, storage needs and daily operation was assessed. From there, a  goods lift solution was recommended to improve safety, efficiency and ease of use – specifically tailored to the demands of the AV industry.

The final design was a 1000kg capacity goods lift from the Reach range. Fitted with a useable platform size of 2000 x 1500mm to accommodate large, heavy AV equipment such as flight cases and staging decks. Designed to operate between the ground floor and a mezzanine, the goods lift included an anti-slip loading ramp, twin outward opening interlocked gates and a full height mesh enclosure to maintain safety during use.

To keep things efficient, one touch latching controls were installed, allowing the lift to be operated easily by one team member. Overload sensors were also included as an essential safety feature to prevent the risk of accidental misuse or damage.

The goods lift was painting in the company’s signature colour orange to align with their branding. The structure was supplied free standing for fast, non-disruptive installation and was fully operational with minimal impact on the warehouse schedule.

  • The Benefits

The lift has removed the need for forklifts, creating a safer, more efficient working environment. With minimal training required (and no licences) staff can operate it confidently and independently. The custom finish adds a professional touch to the warehouse space – both practical and on-brand.

“We are an events/AV company. We stock high value Equipment such as stages and heavy duty lighting equipment, very bulky. We have been in this warehouse for 7 years and always stored the equipment on racking around 11 meters high. We would typically use a forklift to reach and access the equipment however it is not safe to have forklifts driving around the warehouse especially lifting 11 meters high.”

“Never bought a lift before, Advanced Handling guided us through the steps to make it clear and simple. Fairly priced, we had the option to change the colour of the lift to match our branding which made a big difference for us. The process was stress free and seamless and we are ready to order a second one any day now.” – Matt, Clownfish
