Fyffes is one of the largest tropical produce importers and distributers in Europe.  The Group is primarily involved in the production, procurement, shipping, ripening, distribution and marketing of bananas, pineapples and melons.

Fyffes Health and Safety Executive took out an audit of all 4 UK sites and established some improvements that could be made to the production line.  The level of bending and twisting for a factory operator could potentially cause health and safety injuries as well as decrease efficiency in the process.  Advanced Handling was approached to pride a solution to help eliminate these issues at the Wakefield site initially and this was then expanded out to the 3 other locations.

Advanced Handling provided Fyffes with 8 low profile static scissor tables to lift a capacity of 1000kg.

Malcolm Ormsby of Fyffes says "the implementation of the scissor tables has dramatically reduced Health and Safety risks, we were impressed with the quick turnaround provided by Advanced Handling and the engineer sent to install the product was both efficient and knowledgeable."

The Basingstoke site has now taken out a service contract with Advanced Handling for their scissor table to ensure that their materials handling equipment is kept running to its absolute optimum throughout its working life.
