Coca-Cola Enterprises, Milton Keynes, service and maintain vending machines. In order for each of their thirteen specially trained engineers to work safely and comfortably at their workstation they required the vending machine to be lifted up to a height of around 1.5m from the ground. Previously, this was achieved using a modified pump truck which would allow each machine to be raised to a sufficient height to enable placement on top of a surface mounted scissor lift table. This, however, resulted in inefficiencies as each machine had to be double handled and the modified pump trucks employed proved to be unreliable.

Thirteen ‘pit mounted’ Static Scissor Lift Tables each with a capacity of 1000kg and lifting to a height of 1600mm. Advanced Handling was approached to provide a solution which would replace the current layout with bespoke ‘pit mounted’ tables. This would allow the vending machines to be placed directly on the table surface and remove the element of double handling completely.

Advanced Handling technical designers worked alongside Dell Leslie-Dell, Loss Control Manager for Coca-Cola Enterprises to ensure the equipment supplied achieved their objectives and also met all the latest Health and Safety regulations.

Staff are much more protected from injury and the use of the scissor tables at each workstation vastly increased productivity and eliminated double handling. The tables were tailor-made to integrate perfectly into the staff workstations and greatly improved staff motivation.
